erstad ARCHITECTS has worked on several projects with the Riverstone International School.  In 2010 the new Lower School, a 24,700 SF single story building was completed.  The building was designed not only to be a school, but also a tool for learning.  The design exposes the structural, mechanical and electrical systems where ever possible.  Skeletal materials that make up a building were used as finish materials so the students, pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, could see how the building actually goes together.

The 10,650 SF gymnasium was completed in 2008. The building incorporates extensive clearstory to take advantage of natural sunlight, a lobby suitable for community meetings, telescoping bleachers, as well as offices and locker/shower rooms.  Local manufacturers, Trus Joist International, provided the steel/wood trusses and engineered lumber that was used in the load-bearing walls.
