Gem Prep Nampa is a newly constructed 40,000 sq. ft., 2-story K-12 public charter school. The program focuses on preparing students for post-secondary success by using a blended learning environment which allows for innovative uses of technology. With that in mind, erstad ARCHITECTS worked with the client to create a colorful, yet cost-effective solution that can accommodate up to 730 students.
The academic space comprised of 15 traditional classrooms, 6 larger rooms with operable partitions for flexibility, 2 flex rooms, and a fab lab. These spaces revolve around a central core of restrooms, commons, and student collaboration spaces. A multi-purpose gym provides even more versatility. Interior finishes range from brightly painted walls to abstract carpet and restroom tile.
The 4.5-acre site includes a playfield, parking, and playground, allowing ample room for the students to roam and play.
