YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Beginning in 2003, erstad ARCHITECTS had the exciting opportunity to work with the YMCA on master planning their camp located on over 400 acres at Horsethief Reservoir in Valley County. This type of planning and collaboration allowed the camp to grow as funding was available, and smart planning guaranteed that transitioning from small to large would occur without undue cost or waste. With the infrastructure, 10 cabins, five yurts and an interim dining lodge in place, the camp opened in June 2010. Phase II included construction of the main dining hall and lodge; staff housing was completed in 2013.

The camp teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and builds character and leadership, skills children can use for life. erstad ARCHITECTS is grateful to have shared this experience with all the people who made Y Camp possible.
