In early March of 2016 The College of Idaho, founded in 1891, began looking for architectural and engineering firms to assist them with the complete renovation of the existing Voorhees and Finney residential halls on the campus. The buildings were constructed in 1910 (Finney) and 1912 (Voorhees) and in need of complete renovation from roof to basement with new elevators in between. Once the comprehensive demolition process was completed, code upgrades, ADA accessibility, HVAC, windows, plumbing and electrical were addressed; the design to incorporate the latest technology, updated furnishings and modern amenities began. At Voorhees Hall, the 20,000 S.F. comprehensive renovation was completed in February 2017 with the 15,000 S.F. at Finney Hall on schedule to be complete the in the Fall of 2017.
