Henriksen Butler

Built in 1939 to house the American Legion Hall, a unique building at 4th & Idaho stands as a piece of historic architecture in downtown Boise.  After changing hands many times and undergoing many remodels over the years, it had lost its original beauty. When furniture dealer Henriksen Butler (HB) moved into the building they wanted to restore the original character of this Art Deco/Art Moderne style building to house their new offices and Herman Miller furniture showroom. erstad ARCHITECTS’ Interior Design department completely remodeled the interior and cleaned up the outside, updating it to ADA code compliance. HB’s taste for contemporary design mixed well with the 1940s period and created an interesting juxtaposition of the furniture lines they represent with the classic lines and shapes of the building. erstad ARCHITECTS won a City of Boise Building Excellence Award for the new exterior ADA ramp that was part of this remodel.
