At erstad, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Chef Richard Langston and his wife to design the perfect home for their new restaurant at the Inn at 500 in downtown Boise back in 2015. They sought an elegant, upscale atmosphere that still retained the cozy local vibe cherished by longtime patrons.

 Our interiors department worked closely with Richard and Melinda to bring their vision to fruition, crafting a range of dining areas that balance intimacy with openness. The interior finishes evoke modern romance, blending metallics and a darker color palette with subtle nods to the local Idaho wine country. For example, a canopy of suspended wine barrel staves adds a touch of whimsy over the area affectionately dubbed “the living room,” providing both ambiance and a screen for the partially exposed kitchen. In response to evolving needs, we introduced a full bar to Richard’s business model, creating a glimmering space that caters to the after-work crowd while complementing and enhancing Richard’s culinary expertise and menu offerings.
